McGehee: A contributor to Roseville for 3 decades

To the Editor:

I am writing in support of Tammy McGehee for Roseville mayor. Tammy has been a contributor to Roseville for three decades, championing concerns of neighborhoods involving storm water, traffic and nearby proposed development.  She has been a strong voice for the people emphasizing larger notification areas for proposed city changes or developments, with an emphasis on strategic planning and referendums for large expenditures.

She volunteers in our community as well as having served as a council member for the past 8 years. She has been a volunteer at Presbyterian Homes for 18 years and for the Rice Creek Watershed District for 12 years. Tammy was an early and active supporter of programs to assist seniors who want to stay in their homes. She has spent many years as a caregiver to seniors, understanding the difficulties of those providing the care as well as those receiving the care, who are trying to adjust to a loss of independence.

These experiences of care giving, volunteering and service on the council make Tammy an excellent choice for mayor. Her work as a teacher and corporate manager give her the leadership, teamwork and communication skills required. She has shown her commitment to the community, to neighborhoods and to individuals. We want a thoughtful, caring, hard-working mayor, committed to engagement, openness and transparency — and someone who is willing to listen to others. Tammy has my vote!
