Man charged for post-State Fair assault

A St. Paul man was charged Nov. 29 with felony assault for a fight this summer near the Minnesota State Fairgrounds that landed another man in the hospital with bleeding and swelling on his brain.

New Lake Elmo child care center breaks ground


submitted photo Owners and construction workers broke ground for a new Lake Elmo child care center on Nov. 28. Growing Explorers Learning Center should be open by August 2019 on Jade Trail North.

“It’s hard to find good care,” said Ahmad Shamsi. A father of two little ones under 3 years old, Shamsi said he and his wife grew tired of shuttling their kids to subpar child care centers.
