The 2015 cross country season was one to remember for the Irondale High School girls team. A pair of third-place finishes in the final two meets of the season in 2015 gave the Knights their best post-season in a number of years.

The St. Anthony Village High School boys cross country team has won the past two Tri-Metro Conference team championships. In order to make it three in a row, the Huskies need to replace their three top runners from a year ago.

Replacing the athletes who graduated the previous spring is always crucial for teams to have repeated success.

When the Mounds View High School boys cross country team gathers for its first workouts of the season next week, it will do so under the tutelage of a hall-of-famer. 

Although the spring high school sports season just ended earlier this week, some athletes are already working for next fall. The North High School boys cross country team is one such group.

The high school cross country season came to a close on Saturday as four races were run at the state meet in Northfield. Irondale and Mounds View had entries in both Class AA contests.

Ross Fleming, head coach of the Mounds View High School boys cross country team said at the beginning of the season that he believed his team could reach the state tournament. His team proved him right last week.

The cross country teams from Irondale High School weren't able to advance to the state meet but they will be represented at state by some individual team members.
