What can you do to reduce carbon emissions?

On Monday, April 29, at 7 p.m., Vadnais Heights resident and clean energy advocate Steve Jorissen will present “Reducing Carbon Emissions — What Can I Do?” at the Shoreview Library, 4560 Victoria St. N. in Shoreview.

Are you interested in learning about easy things you can do at home to reduce your impact on the environment, and in particular what you can do to reduce your household’s contribution to the climate change problem?  Celebrate Earth Day and honor Mother Earth by coming to this event to get ideas about things you can do to reduce your footprint.  Jorissen will present practical information about how any household can reduce its carbon footprint.

Holding a Ph.D. in physical chemistry, Jorissen has 30 years of experience in the specialty chemical industry. He has also been very active in STEM education activities at White Bear High School and has worked with the Bakken Museum to develop hands-on experiments for elementary students.

The event will also include information about the book “Drawdown,” which ranks 100 solutions to the climate change problem by order of effectiveness. Many of the solutions described in the book are steps that people can implement at home or in local groups like clubs, churches, schools and cities. For more information about call 612-965-8284.
