Historical society seeking new board members

The Dakota County Historical Society is accepting applications from the public to serve on its board of trustees.

The society is committed to preserving and presenting the entire history of the county. In pursuit of this mission, the society has partnered with donors, members, 240-plus volunteers and more than 40 organizations to significantly increase its size and reach over the past decade. 

DCHS is seeking trustees with the passion, skills and resources to help this growing organization continue to achieve its goals and successfully execute its strategic plan. All trustees must have the capacity to clearly articulate the goals of the DCHS and participate in the activities of the DCHS.  Applicants with knowledge of web development, fundraising, social media and database management will be given special consideration.

The society is specifically looking for individuals to represent these communities within Dakota County: Apple Valley, Lakeville, Farmington, Mendota Heights, Sunfish Lake, Empire Township, Hampton, Eureka Township, Randolph, Ravenna Township, Miesville, New Trier and Castle Rock Township.
