Dakota County to host focus groups about food waste

Three discussion sessions will be held to gather thoughts and opinions from Dakota County residents about cooking and eating. The residents' opinions will help county staff develop useful tools to prevent food waste in homes.

The one-hour sessions will be held:

• Friday, Nov. 13, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Wentworth Library in West St. Paul.

• Friday, Nov. 20, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Heritage Library in Lakeville.

• Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Pleasant Hill Library in Hastings.

The focus groups will be conducted by Dakota County's Minnesota GreenCorps members to learn about people's thoughts on food waste. The Minnesota GreenCorps is a statewide program to help preserve and protect Minnesota's environment while training a new generation of environmental professionals. Dakota County hosts a GreenCorps member to assist with food waste prevention education.
